LED wall weight calculator

Wall size and a kg/m² figure in — total panel weight, rigging point count and per-point load with a 1.2 dynamic factor out. Pick a real panel to use its datasheet weight instead of a guess. Every number here is a plan, not a permission: a competent rigger verifies before anything flies.

LED wall weight, answered

How much does an LED wall weigh?

Panels in our datasheet-verified database range from under 10 kg/m² for lightweight large-format rental tiles to 52 kg/m² for heavy-duty outdoor cabinets; common indoor rental panels sit around 30–40 kg/m². A 8 × 4.5 m wall at 37 kg/m² is roughly 1,300 kg before bumpers and rigging hardware.

How many rigging points does an LED wall need?

The common planning rule is one point per three metres of wall width, minimum two. Venue steel, truss layout and hoist availability move the real answer — and the final rig must be verified by a competent rigger.

What is a dynamic factor and why multiply by 1.2?

Loads are not static: hoists start and stop, and a moving wall briefly loads its points beyond their static share. Planning multiplies static per-point load by a dynamic factor, commonly 1.2, before comparing against hoist ratings and venue limits.

Bumpers, hang limits and hardware ratios are in the rigging guide. Also: pixels & size, power & circuits.
