This page says who builds RigPlan, where its numbers come from, and what it will not do for you. RigPlan turns a wall specification into the pack list a crew works from: panels and spares, rigging, power circuits, data runs, cases and truck space.
RigPlan is built and run by Erik Reffhaug through ENR Enterprises AS, a company registered in Norway. The work behind it is TV, live events and LED installation, which is where the rules in the engine come from.
Every LED job asks the same questions in the same order. How many panels, what do they weigh, how many circuits, how many ports, will it fit the truck. Those answers used to be retyped from a datasheet PDF on every job, at the wrong hour, with numbers that had to be right. RigPlan works them out in one place, with the sheet attached and the rule shown.
The library holds 148 panels from 11 manufacturers and 20 processors. Every specification is taken from the maker's own published datasheet or manual, and each panel page carries the source and the date it was retrieved.
Where a sheet is silent, RigPlan says "not published" rather than guessing. Where a figure is a house standard rather than a manufacturer figure, it says that too. Every derived line on a pack list shows the rule that produced it, so a rigger can check the reasoning instead of trusting a black box.
A number that looks wrong probably is. Corrections from the people doing the work carry more weight here than any other source, and every change is dated on the changelog. Manufacturers can submit their sheets for a verified listing.
It is not a rental management system. There are no contracts, invoices, payments or crew payroll in it, and there is no plan to add them. It plans and equips the job, then hands the list to the system that books it, which is what the CSV and Rentman export are for.
It is not a content or CAD tool. It works in panels, cabinets, circuits and ports, not in pixels of artwork or in drawings.
It does not replace a competent rigger or an electrician. The figures are a plan to check, not a certificate. Loads, points and circuits stay the responsibility of the people signing for them on site.
