LED wall installation planner

What you get

The questions a client, an electrician and an engineer ask about a permanent LED wall, answered from the panel datasheet and the size you type, before the technical department is on the phone.

• Size in whole cabinets, resolution, format and the viewing distances the pitch supports.
• Typical and maximum draw, the circuits at the site's rating from the building's board, spread over three phases.
• Heat load in kilowatts and BTU per hour, typical for the cooling design and maximum for the worst hour.
• Weight, load per square metre and the cabinet depth, for the structural engineer and the architect.
• Looped A and B data, the processor that carries the pixels and how many of its ports the wall uses, the cable distance against the copper limit.
• The canvas the media player has to fill, checked against what the processor publishes.

How it works

Pick the panel, type the columns and rows, set the job to permanent install. Every figure follows: the drawing, the wiring plan, the power runs and the totals on screen for free. The system sheet, one page per screen with all of the above, prints with a Solo account, together with the cable tags for the installer, the pixel map for whoever builds the content and the install list with spares and house circuits.

The library holds 307 panels from 20 makers, every figure from the maker's own datasheet with the source on the page, including install series from Sharp, Unilumin, Samsung, LG and Absen. Where a sheet does not publish a figure, the sheet says "not published" rather than guessing.

Who it is for

Integrators and signage resellers quoting a wall, in-house AV teams specifying one, and consultants checking a proposal. The same planner serves rental houses on the show side; a shop that does both switches the job type per job.

What it is not

It is not a structural or an electrical design. The load per square metre and the circuit count are the inputs the engineer and the electrician work from, and the sheet says so on every page. It is not a content tool: it says what resolution the player must deliver and where each screen sits on the canvas, and stops there.
