How do I calculate LED wall resolution from pixel pitch?

Divide each physical dimension in millimetres by the pixel pitch. A 5 m wide wall at 2.6 mm pitch is 5000 / 2.6 ≈ 1923 pixels wide. Do the same for height: 3 m gives 3000 / 2.6 ≈ 1154 pixels.

What resolution is a 5 × 3 m LED wall at 2.6 mm pitch?

About 1923 × 1154 pixels — roughly 2.2 megapixels. That is close to full HD (1920 × 1080), which is why 2.6 mm is such a common rental pitch for stage walls around this size.

What pixel pitch do I need for my viewing distance?

The common rule of thumb is one metre of minimum viewing distance per millimetre of pitch: a 3.9 mm wall reads clean from about 4 m, a 1.9 mm wall from about 2 m. It is a convention, not a law — content, brightness and camera use all move it.

Why does my real wall not match the calculated resolution exactly?

Panels come in fixed cabinet sizes, so a wall is built in whole-cabinet steps. A 5 m target from 500 mm cabinets is exactly 10 cabinets, but 600 mm cabinets give you 4.8 m or 5.4 m. The snap-to-panel tool below shows the nearest real build, and the planner derives the full pack list from it.
