Source: YES TECH: MT II series specifications, retrieved 2026-09-02. Outdoor mesh/creative cabinet, IP65, 4,000 to 4,500 nits. Anamorphic pitch: 3.9 mm horizontal, 7.8 mm vertical (128×64 px on a 500×500 cabinet). Spec table gives 450/100 W/m² ±15%. No hanging limit published, so the hang figure is a conservative placeholder.

Worked example: a 16 × 9 wall (16:9)

16 columns by 9 rows of this tile makes a 8.00 × 4.50 m wall, the closest this cabinet gets to 16:9, at 2,048 × 576 pixels (1.18 MP): 144 panels plus 8 spares at the one-off rate. It weighs about 1,035 kg including bumpers, around 414 kg across each of 3 points.

On European power it draws 16.3 kW at full white (3.6 kW on typical content), which at an 80% derate is 8 × 16 A / 230 V circuits. Data comes to 3 runs at up to 63 panels per port, worst run 68% loaded, fitting 1 × NovaStar VX1000. Every figure is derived by the calculator below. Change the numbers for your own wall.

The rules behind every number

Every quantity above is derived from the rules below, written with working AV techs and corrected as they red-pen them.

  1. openSpare panels: 5% of wall count, minimum 2 (one-off).
  2. ✓ confirmedBumpers come from your stock, not a formula: widest first, combined to cover 16 columns. Partial coverage (a wider bar over fewer columns) is allowed and noted; shortfalls are flagged instead of invented.
  3. openHanging bar weights for this system are not published, so your standard 35/25/15 kg for 3/2/1-wide applies.
  4. openRigging points: one per ≤3 m of wall width, minimum 2, giving 3. 1× 1 t hoist per point.
  5. openPer point: 2× steel, 2× spanset, 4× 3.25 t shackle.
  6. openPoint load: wall weight ÷ points × 1.2 dynamic factor. Warn above 800 kg per 1 t hoist.
  7. ✓ confirmedCircuits sized on max load (full white) at 80% derate: 26 panels per 16 A / 230 V circuit (113 W/panel). Typical draw shown separately for the venue/generator ask.
  8. ✓ confirmedPower runs follow the connectors: in one side, out the other, gendered plugs, jumpers as short as the maker can get away with. Vertical works both ways, sideways only one hop to the right (rear view), so a run may snake up and down across adjacent columns, but never left and right. Vertical snakes over 2 columns need 8 circuits (single columns would need 16, full rows 9).
  9. open1× 63 A 3-phase distro per 18 circuits (1). TRUE1 jumpers = panels − runs, +10% spare.
  10. ✓ confirmedRuns are load-balanced: panels split evenly across the circuits a shape needs (12+12, never 18+6) so every main-in pulls about the same. Phases are a suggested round-robin L1 to L3 within each distro.
  11. ✓ confirmedExact-pixel mapping (NovaStar VX1000): a port carries only the panels wired to it, and data snakes in any direction (unlike power). Wiring follows whole columns as vertical serpentines, numbered from the left seen from the rear, the natural reading order when patching, with every run capped at 80% of 650 k px per 1G port at 60 Hz 8-bit (threshold, refresh and depth adjustable): at most 63 panels per run, giving 3 runs, worst run 68%. Loads balance evenly across runs. Capacity is the sheet figure at 8-bit; refresh scales as 60/Hz. No sheet publishes a per-port width cap; the MX40 Pro’s minimum load width is applied where it bites. Correct me with measured figures.
  12. ✓ confirmedRedundancy defaults off. Rental shows rarely run looped data; it is primarily a critical-installation feature. Turning it on gives every run a B loop from a second unit, so the processor count doubles.
  13. openData enters each run at the top of its first column and snakes on from there, so the drawing, the cable tags and the connection file all start at that end. The entry end is a choice per wall; the runs, ports and processors stay the same either way.
  14. openHome runs cut at run distance + wall height + 5 m service loop.
  15. openProcessors are checked on two limits: port count and total pixel capacity (capacities placeholder).
  16. ✓ confirmedProcessor list defaults to NovaStar (VX1000 first, UHD Jr / MCTRL / MX / VX family). Rental houses rarely run Brompton; it stays available for the shops that do. All figures verified against manufacturer spec sheets.
  17. openCases: 8 panels per dolly, 60 cables per trunk, 8 bumpers per case, rigging trunk per 6 points. Truck estimate: 0.5 m² footprint per case over 2.4 m trailer width.
  18. openElectronics spares: 1 receiving card per 25 panels, 1 PSU per 25, minimum 1 each.
