Source: Hikvision: DS-D4629CE22-1AB product specifications, retrieved 2026-09-17. Indoor rental cabinet, SMD Triad LED, front and rear maintenance, IP40. Page gives 460/154 W/m² maximum and average at 1,000 nits, 7,680 Hz and 7.4 kg per cabinet. Headline class P2.9; the page prints the pitch as 2.9762 mm. No hanging limit is published, so the hang figure is a placeholder.
Worked example: a 16 × 9 wall (16:9)
16 columns by 9 rows of this tile makes a 8.00 × 4.50 m wall, the closest this cabinet gets to 16:9, at 2,688 × 1,512 pixels (4.06 MP): 144 panels plus 8 spares at the one-off rate. It weighs about 1,266 kg including bumpers, around 506 kg across each of 3 points.
On European power it draws 16.6 kW at full white (5.6 kW on typical content), which at an 80% derate is 8 × 16 A / 230 V circuits. Data comes to 8 runs at up to 18 panels per port, worst run 78% loaded, fitting 1 × NovaStar VX1000. Every figure is derived by the calculator below. Change the numbers for your own wall.

The rules behind every number
Every quantity above is derived from the rules below, written with working AV techs and corrected as they red-pen them.
openSpare panels: 5% of wall count, minimum 2 (one-off).
✓ confirmedBumpers come from your stock, not a formula: widest first, combined to cover 16 columns. Partial coverage (a wider bar over fewer columns) is allowed and noted; shortfalls are flagged instead of invented.
openHanging bar weights for this system are not published, so your standard 35/25/15 kg for 3/2/1-wide applies.
openRigging points: one per ≤3 m of wall width, minimum 2, giving 3. 1× 1 t hoist per point.
openPer point: 2× steel, 2× spanset, 4× 3.25 t shackle.
openPoint load: wall weight ÷ points × 1.2 dynamic factor. Warn above 800 kg per 1 t hoist.
✓ confirmedCircuits sized on max load (full white) at 80% derate: 25 panels per 16 A / 230 V circuit (115 W/panel). Typical draw shown separately for the venue/generator ask.
✓ confirmedPower runs follow the connectors: in one side, out the other, gendered plugs, jumpers as short as the maker can get away with. Vertical works both ways, sideways only one hop to the right (rear view), so a run may snake up and down across adjacent columns, but never left and right. Vertical snakes over 2 columns need 8 circuits (single columns would need 16, full rows 9).
open1× 63 A 3-phase distro per 18 circuits (1). TRUE1 jumpers = panels − runs, +10% spare.
✓ confirmedRuns are load-balanced: panels split evenly across the circuits a shape needs (12+12, never 18+6) so every main-in pulls about the same. Phases are a suggested round-robin L1 to L3 within each distro.
✓ confirmedExact-pixel mapping (NovaStar VX1000): a port carries only the panels wired to it, and data snakes in any direction (unlike power). Wiring follows whole columns as vertical serpentines, numbered from the left seen from the rear, the natural reading order when patching, with every run capped at 80% of 650 k px per 1G port at 60 Hz 8-bit (threshold, refresh and depth adjustable): at most 18 panels per run, giving 8 runs, worst run 78%. Loads balance evenly across runs. Capacity is the sheet figure at 8-bit; refresh scales as 60/Hz. No sheet publishes a per-port width cap; the MX40 Pro’s minimum load width is applied where it bites. Correct me with measured figures.
✓ confirmedRedundancy defaults off. Rental shows rarely run looped data; it is primarily a critical-installation feature. Turning it on gives every run a B loop from a second unit, so the processor count doubles.
openData enters each run at the top of its first column and snakes on from there, so the drawing, the cable tags and the connection file all start at that end. The entry end is a choice per wall; the runs, ports and processors stay the same either way.
openHome runs cut at run distance + wall height + 5 m service loop.
openProcessors are checked on two limits: port count and total pixel capacity (capacities placeholder).
✓ confirmedProcessor list defaults to NovaStar (VX1000 first, UHD Jr / MCTRL / MX / VX family). Rental houses rarely run Brompton; it stays available for the shops that do. All figures verified against manufacturer spec sheets.
openCases: 8 panels per dolly, 60 cables per trunk, 8 bumpers per case, rigging trunk per 6 points. Truck estimate: 0.5 m² footprint per case over 2.4 m trailer width.
openElectronics spares: 1 receiving card per 25 panels, 1 PSU per 25, minimum 1 each.
Cable tags 288 tags · 8 data runs · 8 circuits
One label per cable, both ends named, in the order the runs are wired: cabinets as column and row seen from the rear, c1r1 top left. Print them, or copy the list as CSV for a label printer.
Planning aid. Rigging figures (points, loads, hardware) must be verified by a competent rigger before anything leaves the ground; panel and processor figures come from the manufacturers' datasheets and can change between revisions. Made with RigPlan, the free LED wall planner · rigplan.app
